Engineer Says New DAATH Album Is 'The Most Unique Record I've Ever Had My Hands On'
July 28, 2008Mark Lewis of Florida's AudioHammer studios, who took care of the engineering duties on the new album from the Georgia-based metal band DAATH, "The Concealers", had the following to say about the record in a recent online posting:
"The DAATH record, what can I say? FUCK! It's amazing, man. I don't really know how to approach it in press/forums etc... It's most definitely the most UNIQUE record I've ever had my hands on and undoubtedly the most work any of us have ever done. It's not the type of 'work' many of you think I'm saying either. The album IS WHAT IT IS, it's real and it's them and it's what i think a lot of records are missing these days. Maybe I'm biased but I can't say enough about this record... I just hope it doesn't fly over people's heads. So dense harmonically and musically, I just love it. All five of those guys are critical to the process."

DAATH in February announced the addition of vocalist Sean Z. to the group's ranks.
The band, who parted ways with Sean Faber after Ozzfest, spent the autumn season holding open auditions for the position, with the unwavering goal of finding a diverse singer with enough range and power to match the band's progressive style of metal. Fellow Atlantan Sean Z., who filled in on vocals during the band's late fall tour with DARK FUNERAL, fit the bill.
